Case Study: Hospital Photomontage Visualization for ShowMark Development
Project Overview
Client: ShowMark Development
Project Location: Atlantic City, New Jersey
Project Type: Conceptual Design & Photomontage of Aerial Renderings
Scope of Work:
ShowMark Development engaged Panoram to visualize a proposed hospital development using a real aerial photograph of the site. The goal was to do a conceptual design of a hospital building and a small park beside the proposed building, that felt realistic, contextual, and presentation-ready for city meetings.
Our scope included:
Designing the hospital building and exterior landscape based on an actual aerial site image
Producing two high-resolution aerial renderings from different viewpoints
Ensuring the visuals clearly communicated scale, access points, and real-world context
Actual drone image of the site in Atlantic City
The Challenge
The primary challenge of this project was timing.
Due to a change in the city’s meeting schedule, the delivery timeline for both the White Clay (Phase 1) and Color Draft (Phase 2) renderings had to be compressed. To support Showmark Development’s upcoming presentation while still maintaining a high level of quality, Panoram adjusted the production schedule:
White Clay delivered early January 2025
Color Draft renderings delivered in the middle of January 2025
Adding to the time constraints, Panoram was closed at the end of January 2025 for a scheduled company retreat, temporarily pausing production during a critical window of the project timeline.
Despite these limitations, the team carefully planned deliverables around the closure, maintained clear communication with Showmark Development, and ensured that no compromises were made to the quality of the work. The client confirmed that the adjusted schedule worked for them, allowing the project to move forward smoothly.
Design Process & Collaboration
Phase 1: Concept & White Clay
The project officially kicked off after the proposal was signed late December 2024. With the city meeting approaching, the team from Panoram focused on establishing the building’s massing, layout, and overall site presence.
On early January 2025, Panoram delivered the White Clay rendering, presenting the conceptual design of the hospital without colors or textures. This allowed Showmark Development to review the structure, proportions, and placement before moving into detailed visuals.
Phase 2: Color Draft & Refinements
After reviewing the White Clay, Showmark Development sent mark-ups, requesting:
Hospital logos added to multiple areas of the building
A fence along the side of the site fronting the road (including a reference image
The following day, Panoram delivered the Color Draft, incorporating all requested updates and introducing materials, textures, and landscaping details.
Follow-ups were sent and additional comments were suggested by the client throughout the process. By early February, Showmark Development confirmed that no further changes were needed and that the renderings were good to go.
Final Delivery
After receiving the client's final approval, Panoram sent the final high-resolution photomontage, which was then used by the client for an upcoming meeting the same day.
Results & Outcome
The final photomontage renderings provided ShowMark Development with:
Clear, realistic visuals for city presentations
A strong sense of scale and site context
A professional representation of the proposed hospital and surrounding environment
By balancing speed with quality and maintaining clear communication throughout the process, Panoram delivered visuals that met both the deadline and the design expectations.
Why This Project Worked
Proactive schedule adjustments to protect quality
Clear client feedback and fast approvals
A structured two-phase workflow (White Clay → Color Draft)
Strong collaboration between client and visualization team
This project is a great example of how thoughtful photomontage renderings can help developers confidently present their vision—especially when timing is critical.
